ARTIST ASSISTANCE

RESPONSIBILITIES

General painting assistance, building custom-shaped panels, organizing and general upkeep of the studio. From May to September, assisted Brenna in creating a body of work for her solo show at Honor Fraser Gallery in Culver City entitled “Mathematics for Individual Achievement.”

 CARLSONARTS, LLC   Sun Valley, CA

JULY 2012 - OCTOBER 2012

Contracted to assist with the assembly of Tony Tasset’s Rainbow at Sony Picture Studios Backlot in Culver City.  Assembly of the piece entailed an extensive list of responsibilities, careful handling of the aluminum painted panels, routing aluminum panels, coordination and organization of the tools and building materials, as well as constant problem solving, all under the pretext of handling and fabricating art of the highest caliber.  Labored from 10-18 hours per day, six days a week for two and a half months to get the sculpture completely assembled by the October 1st deadline.

MARCH 2012 - APRIL 2012

Temporarily contracted to assist fabrication for Christian Moeller’s Bit Wall piece for the Marlins, new Miami stadium.  Fabrication of a pixelated image on a chain linked fence. Some responsibilities included operating a forklift to handle materials for fabrication, verifying the accuracy of our team's work, packing finished product in custom crates, and securing finished product on a flatbed truck for delivery.

 TASCHEN STORE   Beverly Hills, CA / Hollywood, CA • November 2009 - August 2011

RESPONSIBILITIES

Opening and closing the store. Receive incoming shipments, price label and prep merchandise. Restock displayed inventory. Package, and ship merchandise to clients. Creatively merchandise new inventory. Create and send weekly and monthly sales reports to our corporate headquarters.  Help maintain the store during special events, such as parties and book signings. 

 LUCKY SCENT / INDIE SCENTS (.COM)   Los Angeles, CA • May 2010 - November 2010

RESPONSIBILITIES

Receive incoming shipments.  Verify invoices with physical shipment, contacted vendors if incoming shipments were received damaged. Send back damaged merchandise. Update computer inventory system. Package and ship samples of fragrances to clients via USPS, UPS, and FEDEX.  Also  responsible for kickstarting indiescents.com, an independent sister company of Lucky Scent. Assembled stockroom.  Directly communicate with customers regarding their questions on the status of their purchases, delivery status, and general questions regarding products. 

 UCLA ART DEPARTMENT   Los Angeles, CA

CERAMICS DEPARTMENT / September 2004-2007

Responsibilities included opening and closing the ceramic lab, answering basic or advanced technical questions.  Answering phones.  Maintaining a clean and orderly office. Organizing the Ceramics lab, loading and unloading kilns.  Firing electric Kilns, and other clerical duties.

PAINTING DEPARTMENT / September 2004-2007

Responsible for digitally archiving the entire painting departments slide library. Digitally scan and create spreadsheets for over five thousand slides. Helped build the new painting studios in the Broad Art Center.

 UCLA UNICAMP   Los Angeles • 2005 - 2007

COUNSELOR

Counseled youth from Santa Monica, Venice, and Compton/Watts areas at Camp Riverglen, in the San Bernardino Mts.  As a member of UCLA Unicamp, I was responsible for my cabin of 8 -18 youth at a time for 24 hours of week long experience of camping hiking and other leadership building activities. I have worked with youth of ages 13-17.

 UCLA UNICAMP MENTORSHIP PROGRAM   Los Angeles • 2006 - 2007

PROGRAM COORDINATOR

The UCLA Unicamp Mentorship Program pairs youth from a low income housing project in North Hollywood with Mentors from UCLA. My responsibility was to create programming and facilitate the time spent between mentors and their pupils.
